The Wamego Recreation Complex is located at the southwest corner of Highway 24 and Balderson Blvd. This 37-acre site is the primary home for the City’s summer ball program, featuring three baseball/softball diamonds and one high school regulation baseball diamond.
The Complex also contains two soccer fields and six tennis courts. A .88-mile, paved walking trail circles the park. The parking lot has 310 stalls, and a concession/office building is located in the center of the park. The park’s ample open space makes it an ideal spot for viewing the 4th of July fireworks show.
The City of Wamego allows traveling teams in Wamego to practice at the Recreation Complex without a reservation prior to the Wamego Recreation season starting. All tryouts, scrimmages, and games must be reserved and paid for before the event. Exceptions include bad weather, scheduled reservations, and school events.
